Alex Nisthal is Director of Protein Engineering at Xencor. His work focuses on the engineering and optimization of therapeutic proteins and antibodies for autoimmune and oncology indications. Throughout his career, he has contributed to multiple biologics research programs through target identification and validation, protein engineering, and candidate selection. Alex earned his PhD from Caltech, BS from Cal Poly Pomona, and continues to pursue innovations at the intersection of protein engineering, bioinformatics, and drug discovery.
